What Is the Black and Decker Grimebuster?
The Black and Decker Grimebuster (Model BHPC130) is a handheld, cordless electric power scrubber designed specifically for kitchen and bathroom surfaces. Unlike larger floor scrubbers, this device is compact and intended for one-handed use on dishes, stovetops, sinks, and tile.
The product is typically presented in two main versions:

Marketing Claims & How It’s Supposed to Work
According to the manufacturer, the Grimebuster is engineered to provide a “deep clean” with minimal effort. The primary marketing claims include:
- High-Torque Rotation: The head spins at a consistent speed to break up dried-on food and grease without “bogging down” when pressure is applied.
- Ergonomic Comfort: It features a non-slip, contoured handle designed to be easy to hold even when your hands are wet or soapy.
- Versatility: With its interchangeable heads, it is marketed as a “whole-house” tool—capable of transitioning from scrubbing a cast iron skillet to polishing bathroom fixtures.
- Waterproof Durability: Being fully submersible, it is frequently advertised as the ultimate tool for dishwashing and cleaning inside deep, water-filled basins.
Independent Evidence & Red Flags
While Black and Decker is a household name, looking at Black and Decker Grimebuster reviews from 2024 through early 2026 reveals a few recurring “red flags” that potential buyers should consider.
- Battery Dependency: The standard model relies on four AA batteries. Users frequently note that while the initial power is good, the motor’s effectiveness drops significantly as the batteries drain. This can lead to a “weak” feel during longer cleaning sessions.
- Stalling Under Pressure: Despite the “high-torque” claims, some independent testers find that if you press too hard against a surface, the motor may stall or slow down. It is designed to let the spinning motion do the wor Oct 17, 2026 · 3873 Grand Ave - Electronics, Appliances & More - Best Buy At Best Buy Chino, we specialize in helping you find the best technology to enrich your life … k rather than being forced by the user.
- Seal Integrity: Although advertised as submersible, a small percentage of users have reported that the battery compartment seal can eventually fail if not closed perfectly, leading to internal corrosion over time.
User Experience & Real-World Feedback
User feedback in 2026 remains generally positive for light-to-medium tasks, but expectations must be managed.
- The Positive: Homeowners with arthritis or grip issues frequently praise the device. In many Black and Decker Grimebuster reviews, users mention that it significantly reduces wrist strain when cleaning large areas like tiled walk-in showers or kitchen sinks.
- The Mixed: Performance on grout is a “your mileage may vary” situation. While it works well for surface mildew, it may not have the raw power to remove years of deep-set stains in grout lines without the help of strong chemical cleaners.
- The Cautionary: Long-term durability is the most common critique. Some users report the motor “giving up the ghost” after 12–18 months of regular use, suggesting that while it is affordable, it may not be a “buy it for life” tool.
Who Might Benefit & Safety Tips
