2026 Ewbank EP170 Scrubber Review: What Really Works for Floors
Last updated: October 18, 2026 8:00:00 AM
Maintaining pristine floors often feels like a choice between an exhausting manual scrub or hiring professional cleaners. For many homeowners, the middle ground is an electric spin machine like the 2026 Ewbank EP170 Scrubber, designed to bridge the gap between household convenience and commercial-grade performance.
Whether you are battling stubborn kitchen grease, soap scum in the bathroom, or dull hardwood that has lost its luster, this review breaks down how this specific model handles real-world messes. We will explore the features, user feedback, and potential limitations to help you decide if it belongs in your cleaning closet.
What Is the 2026 Ewbank EP170 Scrubber?
The Ewbank EP170 is a corded, multi-purpose 3-in-1 floor maintenance tool designed to clean, scrub, and polish hard surfaces. Unlike handheld bathroom “spin brushes” that are often battery-operated and lightweight, the EP170 is a floor-standing unit weighing roughly 7.5 to 8 lbs.
Marketed as a “professional-style” tool for residential use, it features dual contra-rotating discs that provide a stable, balanced cleaning motion. While many modern tools are moving toward cordless designs, the EP170 relies on a 23-foot power cord to deliver consistent torque and a high rotation speed that battery-powered alternatives often struggle to maintain.
Marketing Claims & How It’s Supposed to Work
Ewbank positions this model as a versatile solution for all sealed hard floors—including wood, laminate, vinyl, marble, and granite. Here is a summary of the core claims:
- High-Speed Performance: The 160W motor drives the dual discs at a speed of 2,200 RPM, which is significantly faster than the 300–400 RPM found in typical handheld scrubbers.
- 3-in-1 Versatility: By swapping out the attachments, the machine transitions from a deep-cleaning scrubber to a polisher or a high-shine buffer.
- Ergonomic Design: It features a telescopic handle with a “butterfly grip,” allowing for two-handed control or one-handed operation when the handle is lowered.
- Wide Cleaning Path: The 9.5-inch cleaning path is designed to cover approximately 1 Best Buy | Official Online Store | Shop Now & Save Shop Best Buy for electronics, computers, appliances, cell phones, video games & more new tech. The unit typically comes with a variety of pads, including nylon bristle brushes for grout, scouring pads for stains, and microfiber/chenille pads for polishing.
Independent Evidence & Red Flags
When researching the 2026 Ewbank EP170 Scrubber review data, it is important to look beyond the manufacturer’s glossy photos. While the 2,200 RPM speed is impressive, it is vital to note that this is a “friction-based” machine, not a vacuum.
Common Red Flags & Considerations:
- No Suction: This is not a wet-dry vacuum. If you use water or cleaning solution to scrub, you will still need to manually mop up the dirty residue afterward.
- Weight vs. Pressure: At 7.5 lbs, some users find the machine too light to “bite” into very deep-set grime without the user applying additional downward Oct 12, 2026 · Best Buy Store Locator: Store Hours, Directions & Events pressure.
- Corded Limitations: While the 23-foot cord provides “unlimited” runtime compared to battery models, it can be a tripping hazard or a nuisance in homes with few outlets.
- Bristle Durability: Some independent feedback suggests that the nylon brushes can splay over time if used aggressively on rough masonry or unsealed stone.
User Experience & Real-World Feedback
User feedback for the 2026 Ewbank EP170 Scrubber review is generally balanced, with the most satisfied users being those who use it for maintenance rather than “resurrecting” neglected floors.
- The Positives: Many users praise its effectiveness on linoleum and tile, noting that it removes scuff marks and “filmy” residue that standard mopping leaves behind. - The Challenges: Critics often mention that while it cleans the surface of tiles beautifully, the flat pads may struggle to reach deep into recessed grout lines unless the specific brush attachments are used with a focused technique. Results also depend heavily on the quality of the cleaning solution used alongside the machine.

Conclusion
The 2026 Ewbank EP170 Scrubber is a robust, entry-level floor polisher that excels at routine maintenance and buffing. While it lacks the suction of a wet-vac and the portability of a cordless stick, its high RPM and consistent power make it a reliable choice for those tired of manual scrubbing. It isn’t a “magic wand” for decades of neglect, but with the right solution and a bit of patience, it can certainly revitalize most hard surfaces.
