What Is the Black+Decker BHPC130 Grimebuster Powered Scrubber?
The Black+Decker BHPC130 Grimebuster is a compact, handheld power scrubber designed to automate the repetitive motion of manual scrubbing. Unlike the long-handled telescopic scrubbers used for floors, this specific model is built for “close-quarters” cleaning—think sinks, stovetops, and tile borders.
Marketed primarily as a versatile home cleaning tool, the Grimebuster features a submersible design and a textured grip. It is powered by standard batteries (usually AAs), making it a cordless option for those who want to avoid the hassle of charging cables or the limited lifespan of built-in lithium batteries.

When investigating whether the Black+Decker BHPC130 Grimebuster Scam or Legit? 2026 Real User Experiences reflect a quality product, it is important to look past the brand name. While Black+Decker is a well-established household name, this specific tool is an entry-level appliance, and users should manage their expectations accordingly.
Common “Red Flags” and Limitations:
- Torque Issues: Some users report that the motor slows down or stops if too much pressure is applied. This suggests it is better for surface-level grime rather than heavy-duty industrial buildup.
- Battery Consumption: Because it relies on disposable batteries, frequent users may find the cost of replacements adds up, or that the power tapers off quickly as the batteries drain.
- Attachment Longevity: There have been notes regarding the bristles on the brush heads fraying faster than expected when used on highly abrasive surfaces.
User Experience & Real-World Feedback
Real-world feedback on the Grimebuster is generally balanced, falling into two camps: those who find it a helpful “extra hand” and those who find it underpowered.
- The Positive: Many users praise the device for cleaning kitchen sinks and mudroom tile. It is frequently cited as a “life-saver” for individuals with arthritis or limited hand strength who find gripping a traditional sponge painful.
- The Cautionary: On the other hand, some reviewers feel the device is better suited for light maintenance than deep restoration. If you are trying to remove ten years of mineral deposits from a showerhead, a handheld battery-operated unit may struggle compared to a plug-in or high-voltage model.
Ultimately, cleaning results vary significantly based on the cleaning solution used alongside the brush, the type of surface, and the frequency of cleaning.
