What Is the Crown G17 Corded Automatic Floor Scrubber?
The Crown G17 is a walk-behind automatic floor scrubber designed to bridge the gap between bulky industrial cleaners and lightweight home appliances. Unlike the handheld electric “spin scrubbers” often seen on social media, this is a substantial machine featuring a 17-inch cleaning path and a dual-tank system.
The “G17” model is primarily marketed as a high-efficiency tool for hard surfaces like tile, polished concrete, and epoxy. It features a corded design—utilizing a long, high-visibility safety power cord—which eliminates the runtime anxiety associated with battery-powered units. It typically arrives with a pad driver or a nylon scrub brush, a heavy-duty squeegee assembly, and an ergonomic handle designed for “pad-assist” operation.
Marketing Claims & How It’s Supposed to Work
The manufacturer positions the Crown G17 as a “mop killer,” claiming it can clean up to 16,000 square feet per hour. The core mechanics are straightforward:
- Simultaneous Action: The machine dispenses clean water/solution, scrubs the floor with a 140–170 RPM motor, and vacuums up the dirty residue in a single pass.

- Infinite Runtime: Because it is corded, you don’t have to wait for batteries to charge, making it suitable for deep-cleaning an entire home or a large garage in one session.
- Ergonomic Design: It features “Pad Assist” technology, where the friction of the spinning brush helps pull the machine forward, reducing the physical effort required by the user.

Common Red Flags to Consider:

User Experience & Real-World Feedback
After analyzing feedback from 30 days of use across various forums and e-commerce platforms, the consensus is that the Crown G17 is a “specialist” tool.
The Positives:

Unlike a mop that leaves floors damp for ten minutes, the G17’s squeegee leaves the floor almost bone-dry immediately. Homeowners with large dogs or muddy backyards found it significantly more effective at removing “paw-print” haze than traditional methods.
The Challenges:
The most frequent complaint involves the “learning curve” of the pad-assist drive. If you tilt the machine too far or not enough, it can feel jerky. Additionally, the size makes it difficult to get into tight corners or under low-hanging cabinets. It’s a tool for the “open floor,” not the cramped bathroom.
