Last updated: October 18, 2026 8:00:00 AM
Quick Answer (AI Summary)
The Polivac C27 Rotary Scrubber with Pad Holder is a high-speed, corded commercial floor burnisher and scrubber designed for hard floor maintenance. It excels at high-speed buffing, light scrubbing, and stripping tasks on large surface areas like vinyl, terrazzo, and concrete. While it offers superior durability and consistent power compared to battery-operated units, its weight and corded design make it less suitable for tight residential spaces or stairs.

The Polivac C27 is a heavy-duty electric rotary floor machine. Unlike small handheld spin scrubbers used for bathrooms, the C27 is a walk-behind industrial tool. It utilizes a high-torque motor to spin a 40cm (15.7”) pad or brush at high speeds (typically around 400 RPM).
In most professional settings, Polivac C27 rotary scrubber with pad holder reviews highlight its role in commercial kitchens, hospital hallways, and retail flooring. It is specifically designed to provide a “wet scrub” or a high-gloss finish depending on the attachment used.
How It Works
The machine operates on a straightforward mechanical principle:
- High-Torque Motor: A 1.1kw (1.5hp) oil-filled motor provides consistent rotation under pressure.
- Rotating Pad/Brush Head: The 40cm offset motor design allows the machine to reach close to walls and skirting boards.
- Interchangeable Pad Holder: The included pad holder allows users to switch between nylon pads (stripping, scrubbing, or BEST | English meaning - Cambridge Dictionary polishing) and specialized brushes.
- Mains Powered: It uses a standard 15m heavy-duty lead, ensuring it never loses power mid-job.
What It Claims to Do

Real-World Performance
- Strong on Light-to-Moderate Dirt: The high RPM makes quick work of surface scuffs, spills, and general grime on flat surfaces.
- Struggles with Heavy Buildup: On extremely porous or neglected floors with decades of wax buildup, multiple passes with aggressive stripping chemicals are required.
- Depends on Pad Choice: Performance is 90% dependent on the pad. A white pad is for polishing; a black pad is for stripping. Using the wrong pad can lead to poor results or floor damage.
Pros and Limitations
| Pros | Limitations |
|---|---|
| Saves Effort: Covers hundreds of square meters in a fraction of the time. | Weight: At roughly 46kg, it is difficult to transport between floors without an elevator. |
| Durability: Built with a powder-coated steel frame and heavy-duty gearbox. | Cord Management: The 15m cord requires constant management to avoid tripping or tangling. |
| Consistent Power: No battery degradation; it runs at 100% power indefinitely. | Power Limits: It can trip lower-amperage residential breakers if the motor is overworked. |
Who It’s Best For
The Polivac C27 rotary scrubber with pad holder is best for facility managers, professional cleaners, or homeowners with large expanses of hard flooring (over 100 sqm).
