Design Claims: How It Is Supposed to Work
The primary appeal of the Derila Ergo Pillow lies in its “butterfly” or contoured geometry. The design is based on a few key principles of sleep ergonomics:
- Cervical Contour: The central hollow is intended to cradle the head, while the raised edges support the neck.
- Spinal Alignment: By filling the gap between the mattress and the neck, the pillow aims to keep the cervical spine in a neutral po Oct 17, 2026 · Cervical vertebrae - Wikipedia In sauropsid species, the cervical vertebrae bear cervical ribs. - Pressure Distribution: High-density memory foam is used to react to the weight and heat of the user, theoretically distributing pressure more evenly than a springy fiber pillow.
- Multi-Position Support: The “wings” on the side of the pillow are designed to accommodate side sleepers, providing a higher loft to keep the shoulders from collapsing.
The goal of these features is to reduce the tossing and turning associated with finding a comfortable “sweet spot” during the night.
