It is a corded unit featuring a 15-meter heavy-duty lead, a height-adjustable handle, and a 40cm cleaning path. Unlike the small plastic brushes sold in late-night infomercials, this is a 41kg (roughly 90 lbs) piece of machinery constructed from powder-coated cast aluminum alloy. It is marketed as a versatile tool for scrubbing, stripping, and even carpet shampooing when fitted with the correct attachments.
Marketing Claims & How It’s Supposed to Work
Polivac positions the C27 as a “simply reliable” solution for maintaining hard floors. Here is a breakdown of the primary claims and features:
- The “Polidrive” Gearbox: The machine uses a sealed, oil-filled gearbox designed to reduce noise and prevent chemical or dust contamination, which theoretically extends the life of the motor.
- Offset Motor Design: One of the main marketing points for the Polivac C27 Rotary Scrubber with Pad Holder is its offset motor. This design is intended to counter-balance the torque (the “kick”) when the machine starts, making it easier to control for people who aren’t professional cleaners.
- Surface Versatility: It is advertised to work on a wide variety of surfaces, including:
- Polished concrete and vinyl.
- Marble, granite, and terrazzo.
- Tiles and grout.
- Carpets (with a shampoo brush or bonnet pad).
- Polished concrete and vinyl.
- Adjustable Ergonomics: The handle is fully adjustable to suit different heights, aiming to reduce back strain during long cleaning sessions.

At 41kg, the machine is significantly heavier than domestic appliances. While the weight provides the downward pressure needed for a deep clean, it makes the C27 difficult to move between floors in a standard house. If your home has multiple levels and no elevator, this is a significant red flag for personal use.
Learning Curve
The “rotary” or “swing” action requires a specific technique. Lifting the handle moves the machine to the right; lowering it moves it to the left. Certification and Claims
While Polivac is a staple in the Australian cleaning industry with decades of history, most “performance” claims are based on industrial standards. There are no miracle “health benefit” certifications—it is simply a mechanical scrubber that uses friction and weight to remove dirt.

Feedback from users in 2026 suggests that the Polivac C27 Rotary Scrubber with Pad Holder is a “buy-it-for-life” tool, but it isn’t for everyone.
- The Positive: Users consistently praise the build quality. Unlike plastic home scrubbers that stall when you apply pressure, the C27’s 1.1kW motor is almost impossible to bog down. Homeowners with large, open-plan tiled areas or garages find that it cleans in minutes what used to take hours of manual scrubbing.
- The Cautionary: Some users find the 15-meter cord cumbersome in smaller rooms with lots of furniture. Additionally, because it is a “non-suction” scrubber, you still need to use a wet vac or a mop to pick up the dirty water the machine creates.
- Result Variance: Results depend heavily on the pad or brush you choose. A soft white pad might do nothing for tough grout, while a heavy-duty black stripping pad could accidentally damage a delicate finish if you aren’t careful.
