Last updated: October 18, 2026 8:00:00 AM
Scrubbing a bathroom by hand is rarely anyone’s idea of a good time. Whether you are battling stubborn soap scum on shower glass, deep-seated grime in floor grout, or those awkward corners behind the kitchen sink, the physical toll of manual scrubbing is a common frustration for homeowners. This has led to a massive surge in the popularity of electric spin scrubbers.
In this Sunmax SM860 Review 2026, we are diving deep into one of the most talked-about heavy-duty cleaning tools on the market. We’ll separate the marketing “miracles” from real-world utility, looking at the technical specs, independent feedback, and whether this machine truly earns its place in your cleaning closet.
What Is the Sunmax SM860?

Marketed primarily for commercial and large-scale residential use (such as expansive tiled basements or large garages), it features:
- Dual-brush system: Two 17-inch brushes providing a 34-inch cleaning path.

Independent Evidence & Red Flags
When looking at any high-ticket cleaning machine, it is essential to look past the glossy brochures. While the Sunmax SM860 is a legitimate industrial tool, there are a few “red flags” and considerations potential buyers should keep in mind:
- Residential Overkill: For a standard three-bedroom home, this machine is far too large. Some online listings may confuse it with smaller household spin scrubbers, but the SM860 requires significant storage space and a wide turning radius (51 inches).
- Battery Maintenance: While the lithium version is highly praised, the lead-acid versions require diligent charging habits. If left uncharged for long periods, the batteries can “sulfate,” leading to a significantly shortened lifespan.
- Proprietary Parts: While Sunmax stocks parts in US warehouses, you cannot simply go to a local hardware store to buy a replacement squeegee or specialized brush head if one wears out mid-clean.

- You manage a large commercial space, showroom, or warehouse.
