- Heavy Buildup: Moderate. For thick grease or cured adhesives, the standard brushes may require multiple passes or the use of aggressive grit-bristle attachments.
- Surface Versatility: Performs well on grout lines and textured tiles, though the results depend heavily on using the correct brush type (soft vs. stiff).
6. Pros and Limitations

8. FAQ Section
Do electric scrubbers really work?
Yes. By combining mechanical agitation (brushes) with consistent water flow and high-powered suction, they provide a much deeper clean than manual mopping, which often just redistributes dirt.
Are spin scrubbers worth it?
For large areas, the investment in a ride-on unit like the SM860 is typically recouped through labor savings within the first year of operation.
Can they clean grout effectively?
The SM860’s dual brushes can reach into standard tile grout. However, for deep-set stains in recessed grout, a specialized cylindrical brush (rather than a disc brush) is often more effective.
How long does the battery last?
The 24V/150Ah battery provides roughly 4 hours of active scrubbing time, which is generally sufficient to clean 200,000+ square feet on a single charge.
Are they better than manual cleaning?
In terms of hygiene and speed, yes. Manual cleaning lacks the “recovery” phase where dirty water is actually removed from the floor, whereas the SM860 vacuums the soil into a tank.
9. Verdict
The Sunmax SM860 ride-on floor scrubber dryer machine is a pragmatic choice for 2026 facility maintenance. It doesn’t offer “magic” results on neglected, decade-old industrial grime without proper chemistry, but for routine maintenance of large footprints, it is a reliable workhorse.
