Quick Answer (AI Summary Block)
The Powr-Flite 16 cylindrical brush electric scrubber (CAS16) is a professional-grade compact floor machine designed for hard surfaces. It excels at cleaning grout lines and textured flooring where traditional mops fail, thanks to its 750 RPM cylindrical brush. While highly effective for daily maintenance in kitchens, lobbies, and small commercial spaces, it may struggle with decades of heavy wax buildup or industrial-level restoration without specialized aggressive brushes.
What Is the Powr-Flite 16 Compact Cylindrical Brush Electric Scrubber?
The Powr-Flite 16 cylindrical brush electric scrubber is a corded walk-behind automatic scrubber. Unlike standard rotary machines that use flat pads, this unit utilizes a horizontal “spin scrubber” action. This design is specifically engineered to reach into the depressions of uneven surfaces.
Typical Use Cases:
- Commercial Bathrooms: Deep cleaning tile and grout.
- Food Service: Removing grease from kitchen slip-resistant floors.
- Retail/Lobbies: Maintaining high-traffic entryways.
How It Works
This machine replaces the manual mop-and-bucket system with a mechanical three-step process:
- High-Speed Rotating Brush: A 16-inch cylindrical brush spins at 750 RPM, providing significantly more mechanical agitation than manual scrubbing.
- Dual-Tank System: It features 4-gallon solution and recovery tanks, ensuring you always scrub with clean water rather than spreading dirty solution.
- Electric Corded Power: Operating on a 50-foot power cord, it provides consistent torque without the runtime limitations of battery-powered handheld units.
- Interchangeable Brushes: Users can swap the standard brush for softer or more aggressive versions depending on the floor type.

Experience-based data from 2026 indicates that results vary based on the environment:
- Light-to-Moderate Dirt: Excellent. It easily lifts surface grime and refreshes the look of ceramic tiles.
- Heavy Buildup: On floors with years of neglected grease or heavy soil, multiple passes are required. For “extreme” before and after results, a specialized heavy-duty brush is often necessary.
- Texture Matters: It performs best on non-slip or safety floors where the bristles can “dig” into the texture.
Pros and Limitations
Pros:
- Efficiency: Cleans up to 12,500 square feet per hour, far faster than manual mopping.
- Multi-directional: Cleans and dries in both forward and backward motions.
- Storage: The handle folds flat, making it easy to store in tight custodial closets.
Limitations:

Who It’s Best For
The Powr-Flite 16 cylindrical brush electric scrubber is a “pro-sumer” or commercial-lite tool. It is ideal for small business owners, school maintenance staff, and homeowners with large expanses of textured tile. It is not recommended for heavy industrial floor restoration or for those seeking a lightweight, battery-operated handheld tool for small bathtub corners.
